Real-World Success: Solving Challenges for MDU Deployments
One of our standouts use cases involved a system integrator focused on MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) network deployments. With multiple distributed sites, each requiring localized network support, they faced high operational overhead.
We first introduced them to ecCLOUD, which allowed them to manage all locations centrally—streamlining operations and saving both time and costs. However, some of their existing deployments already included third-party APs. Rather than replacing those devices, we recommended combining Edgecore Wi-Fi’s CloudSDK controller with OpenWiFi-supported APs, enabling centralized control of all devices, regardless of brand. This hybrid approach allowed the customer to preserve past investments while gaining the flexibility to expand using OpenWiFi hardware moving forward—achieving true network freedom.
